Buy the probe for food you actually cook
Roasts and suitable thicker cuts give the DT251’s thermometer a job. If dinner is usually pizza, toast and vegetables, the DT201 may already cover the relevant oven tasks. Compare the current price difference after deciding how often you would use the probe.
Follow the thermometer restrictions
Probe placement and food thickness matter. The DT250-series guide excludes some uses and calls for an external food thermometer for safety checks. Do not buy it expecting a doneness button to remove all judgment or make frozen food suitable for every probe mode.
Measure either oven as a working station
Both are substantial tray ovens. Allow ventilation, safe space for hot trays and access for cleaning. Two rack levels share the cavity; they are not independent cooking zones. Confirm the exact probe and tray package in the selected offer.
